Xomba: How to Earn Money with Xomblurbs

I wanted to write this article about Xomblurbs because I feel there is still a lot of things I don't know about Xomba. I have been a member for a few months now and have become aware of some of the top earners to the site. Some of these writers make over $1,000 in adsense income. Keep in mind, this is all residual income so even after they stop writing on Xomba (as long as Xomba is still running) they will still earn that money. I have donw some researched on Xomba and discovered a great deal about how to make money with them. Especially with using the Xomblurbs. Here is what I have discovered.

First of all, Xomblurbs are the short 50-word bookmarks you can write and include a link to whatever website you are promoting. It is a very easy 'article' to write and you can add a web url. If you want to learn more about Xomba read my post about here. Anyway, I found that the majority of content contributed by the top earners consisted of Xomblurbs. Some of these earners have a few hundred Xombytes (basic articles) and over 1,000 xomblurbs. As I said before, these writers make over $1,000 in residual income so they must be doing something correctly. After doing some research on Xomblurbs I found what are some good things you can post a Xomblurb about. Here they are:

Bookmark Your Articles From Other Sites:
I found that many writers on Xomba are bookmarking their articles from other websites like Ehow, Bukisa or Info Barrel. This is a great idea because you can earn from two sites rather than one. You willl earn a backlink for your article which search engines love. The backlink will increase your search engine optimization and will rank your articles higher on search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. Also, you still have the opportunity to earn clicks from the ads placed on your Xomblurb bookmark. Some online earnings shake their heads when they see others bookmarking there own articles. Quite frankly, you have to make that decision for yourself.

Bookmark Amazon Affiliate Links:
I tremendous idea that I discovered a few days ago was that you can bookmark Amazon affiliate contextual ads. Bookmarking these is one of the best ideas because you don't have to worry about niche topics. If you were posting on a blog or website, your ads should be related to the topics you write about. However, if you are writing a post on Xomba you can post any Amazon product without worry. If you want more information about this you should check out my precious post.

Bookmark Coupons:
A great number of earners on Xomba post a great deal of coupons on the site. I would say that 3/4 of the content of one high earner simply bookmarks coupons. You may think that there may not be a great amount of money in doing this but there is. Also, keep in mind that there are ways you can earn money from getting readers to get the coupon. So the writer who is posting these coupons will earn from both Xomba and the coupon site. The great thing about bookmarking coupons is that they are easy to post and many people don't mind saving a $1 on products. You will be surprised how many page views you will get from posting a coupon about saving $1 on ice cream. Give it a try.

Bookmark Your Blog Posts:
If you own a blog you know how important it is to market that blog. Why not earn from two sites by bookmarking all of your blog posts. The more blog posts you have the better. You can still earn from Adsense by way of Xomba and if you have ads on your own blog you could earn more from there as well. Doing this will give you a backlink which is helpful for any blog.

Make Money on Amazon Affiliate with Xomba

So I was looking through Xomba getting ready to edit a few more of my articles. I got distracted by this post that one of the administrators posted. It was nothing too serious it was just a post about some of the changes that will occur with Xomba. It was all just to help Xomba writers increase their earning potential. Anyway, I saw a comment that asked about if it was fine to post Amazon Affiliate links in their articles and the admin (Nick) said it was fine. After I read that my brain really started spinning on how much potential could have with this.

You can post an infinite amount of Amazon affiliate links and and infinite amount of Xomba articles. I realized that I could post so many affiliate links and still earn a great deal of money from Xomba and Amazon at the same time. You can either post a short 50 word xomblurb about the product you are promoting or a long xombyte. You can post a small xomblurb (by the way, if you have know idea what a xomblurb or what xomba is to begin with, I suggest you read about what Xomba is by clicking here) about amazon products on sale, bestselling items or any special offers and then post your amazon link.

You can also post a Xombyte that relates to one or two Amazon products. For example, you could write about "how to buy a flatscreen tv that you'll enjoy.'' You can write about the difference between a plasma and an LCD screen, what features do they have, which screen is better for certain viewing options (some people may want to play more video games and action movies while another cutomer may watch more sports). After that you can post your Amazon affiliate link for a good lcd and a good plasma television. One of the best parts about being an Amazon Associate is that who clicked on your link doesn't have to buy THAT product in order to earn you commission. As long as that person buys anything (and Amazon knows how to get a visitor to buy something) you will earn a commission for it. And you will earn a commission on every product they buy in that session.

More Ways to Increase Your Amazon Affiliate Earnings

As I said in my last post I would give you some more tips on how to increase your Amazon Affiliate earnings. I have still been doing some research on it because I want to learn how just as much as you do. It has been a good learning experience and I feel I am ready to spread the knowledge of what I have learned. I hope These will help you earn more with Amazon Associates as it will with me. I must preface this by saying that you still have to work smart if you want to achieve your goals of making money online with any tactic. Here is what I have learned.

Promote discounts, sales realted to your content
Look into promoting discounts and special sales when working with Amazon associates. If you are just writing articles on a site like Xomba or Bukisa it is even better because you can post about any product that is on sale. You could write a review or make a simple Xomblurb and post your affiliate link. If you have a blog it might be a bit more difficult but if you keep your eyes open for site related sales definitely post them on your website. Sometimes, during holiday season (pre- and post-) you will see sale on several products. One of those products could be related to the content on your page.

Keep writing and posting affiliate links
An important thing to keep in mind with Amazon's Affiliate program (and with all aspects of making money online) is to always stay consistent. Keep posting your affiliate links and writing related topics to them. Just because there isn't a lot of money coming in yet doesn't mean it will stay that way. The key is you have to stay consistent. Maybe you could tell yourself you will want to make 1 new Amazon Affiliate link a day. Soon you will start to see clicks on your links, those clicks will convert into sales, you'll start earning a consistent amount of money and your earnings will continue to increase. Amazon is a very trustworthy site where millions of customers buy many products from. Trust me, if you make the links and get enough traffic to earn clicks Amazon will do all the work for you.

Use Widgets and Contextual ads
There are some bloggers, website owners and article writers who jsut believe in Widgets while others just use contextual ads. Some believe that because the Widgets have actual pictures of the Amazon logo people will be more trustworthy of the link. Those same people also say that contextual ads lack the beauty needed to attract readers and lose the clicks that could potentially turn over to a sail. The other half believe that contextual ads are better because they are more personal and can be placed almost anywhere on the Internet. Those folks believe that the huge Amazon Widget can be easily ignored because it looks like just another ad. Honestly, it will not hurt your site or articles if you give them both a try. Use certain ads where they will recieve the best click relevancy to earn you money.

Be Bold with your ads

If you want to make money online you will have to be bold with where you place any kind of ad. You can't expect to make a dime if all your ads are hiding in a corner of your website. Really put that widget or that contextual ad in a place where readers can have easy access to them. This will tremendously increase your Amazon Associates click rate so you can start earning money online.

Time
It's cliche because it is true, "all good things come to those who wait.'' So even when you have those days when you check your Amazon Associates account and see no sales just keep working on it. Think of it as a snowball coming down a hill; it starts as a little speck and soon it will get larger and move faster. That is how it is with almost any site in the residual income field. So keep working smart and 'stay consistent' with it.

Make sure the products you promote are good quality ones
Now just because you are promoting your heart out on the Internet does not mean it is always a good thing. This can happen more with a lot of people who are just writing short articles or bookmarks and place there affiliate link on it. The product may have only got 2 stars, 4 bad reviews and all the sellers could be bad too. That reader that clicked on your link is probably getting ready to walk out that digital door. SO make sure the products you are making affiliate links for have a good amount of positive feedback.

I hope these tips helped you figure out some ways to increase your Amazon Affiliate earnings. I may come back to this subject in a few weeks and show you how I am doing. Thanks for reading

Ways to Increase Amazon Affiliate Earnings

I've been using Amazon for a bit but still haven't been able to 'figure it out.' Which is why I am writing this article to learn how to do it. I have been researching on the web about how to make money with Amazon Associates and have accumulated a fair amount of information. There is a great deal of things that I am missing and I'm glad I did do the research to learn how to improve upon my mistakes. I hope that you will learn something as well by reading this post. OK, here we go:

Customize Your html code:

Make sure that if you are using the banner ads like the widgets that you blend it in with your website. This is a good thing because you can make your amazon links not look like ads which will make your reader ignore them easier. Also, this will help you because it will make your site look more professional.

Make sure the products relate to your site:

Customize the products that will end up on your site if you are not using contextual ads. If you have banner ads that show four or five products some of the links my be completely unrelated to your site. If you have a blog about football sporting gear it wouldn't make any sense to have products related to deep sea diving or new music CD's. If you have a website, you know that importance of keeping your site very niche and towards a certain audience. So why not have your products from Amazon be on your site too. It is only wise to have that done to help increase click rate and sale conversions.

Review certain products you have used:
If you know of any products that you have used at Amazon give them a proper review. Maybe you have read a book, electronic products, bought a video recorder, etc. give it a review and include a link to amazon for the product. Just be sure your review is thorough enough for readers to actually want to buy the product. You don't really have to have a website to do this either. You can write a review of a product on sites like Bukisa or Xomba if you wanted. People like to read reviews because they want to know what they can expect if they wish to buy it. Try to review a products that may have a sale or discount price on them. Or, try to review products that are selling fast because they are already popular.

Have A good amount of Traffic:
Having a good amount of traffic coming to your site is key if you want to make money online in general. But it is even more important if you want to make money with Amazon Associates. The more traffic you have coming to your site (or articles) the better rate of conversions to sales you will have. So keep writing or posting on your blog, Ehow, Xomba, Bukisa, Infobarrel or where ever you make money online to increase your traffic. It can not be stress enough how important it is that you have visitors coming in if you want to be successful at being an Amazon Affiliate. If you have a good amount of Amazon Affiliate links on the web and earning traffic to them you will see the sales come in.

Get readers into the buying mood:
As you already know, Amazon is a place on the web where you go to purchase products. If you want them to buy products from Amazon you will have to get visitors in (or who are already in) the buying mood. For example, say you have a blog about all the technical aspects of making independent movies. You are going to write about all the things you may need to make a movie; that may include film locations, setting mood, editing, ways to get sound effects, etc. Though your site might be good and are earning a good amount of visitors everyday they still are not in that buying mood. You will have to write about great cameras to film on, sound equipment, lighting equipment or other filming equipment that will be helpful/necessary on a film shoot. You can then include your Amazon affiliate links to get people to visit amazon. You can make top ten lists of the Best Cameras to Film on for Cheap or whatever you can think of and include affiliate links to all of them to Amazon. This will get visitors looking to buy products to your site and click on your affiliate links to earn you your commission.

Let amazon do it's thing:
Once you get visitors to click on your link, if they buy anything on Amazon you will earn a commission for that. Which is great if they took a look at the product you were promoting but deciding to buy a different one. Also, you will earn a commission for every other product they buy after they click on your affiliate link. I usually buy more than one item when I shop at Amazon and I know several others do as well. The best thing about being an Amazon Affiliate is that the website is very well known and trusted by many people. If you are big in the affiliate marketing world, you may know of sites like ClickBank and Commission Junction. Some of the products on these sites may be harder to get a sale from because they are unknown products and are sold from an unknown site. With Amazon, you don't need to worry about any of those issues. Just get your visitors in that 'door' and let Amazon do what it does best.

Include Best Sellers Lists:
Take a look at some of the best sellers list on several well established sites like New York Times, Barns&Nobles or (of course) Amazon. They are a great way to see what people are buying and there may be some products that are related to your site. Back to the movie example, you could post on your site the top ten best selling video cameras and include your Amazon affiliate link for all of them. Make sure you keep updating this page every few weeks as they will change and fluctuate from time to time. This can help you earn a good amount of sells because a 'best sellers' list automatically tells a customers several things: the product works and people like the product a lot.

Hope these tips helped you in some way. I will be adding more tips on How to make money with Amazon Associates so stay posted. Good Luck with these tips for now.

Make Money On Triond: My First Impression

I signed up with Triond a few weeks ago and wanted to give you some of my first impressions of the site. I have checked out the site and taken a good look at the forum section to see some of the people who are dedicated Triond users. I also checked out some of the articles that are posted from Triond just to see what kind of articles they accept. I have learned a lot from them and wanted to share what I have learned so far.

A great thing about this site is that you can create a very nice profile page. You can add all the sites you write on as well as post your twitter account and blog information. Your profile includes all the articles, videos, pictures and audio you have posted. You also will have the chance to add a resource box which you can add you blog page, affiliate links or anything you would like. The best part about having a resource box at Triond is they have multiple sites that they post on (I'll get to that later on in the article) so that will help increase search engine optimization.

Triond is a bit different but still has the same goal of most online residual income writing websites. Triond does not pay their writers anything upfront for their articles. But they do receive income for how ever many page vies they earn. They also say that the writers will earn a percentage of the income when someone buys a product from the advertisers. You will receive 50% of the advertisers revenue which is a good amount. Also, Triond has just recently (As of November 22, 2009) integrated itself with Google Adsense. Therefore, you will be earning from Google Adsense as well as the other Triond advertising companies. In this way, you will get paid by Google in your adsense account (so you have to wait until you reach the $100 minimum) and by Triond. Triod will pay you through Paypal, check or Western Union. If you do not have a paypal account I suggest you get one just for this site. The minimum to cashout for a check or Western Union is $50.00 while the minimum to cashout for paypal is an easy 0.50 cents.

The way the publish your articles is quite different from other sites like eHow and Xomba. Triond actually has a number of sites that are owned by Triond. They own about 18 different sites and they all have articles published by different Triond writes. They wanted to do is like this to make each site very niche and specific for the users visiting them. Some of the sites that Triond owns are Webupon, Writinghood, HealthMad, Quazen and Gomestic. Webupon covers everything under new technologies and web-based applications, Gomestic is a site about home and garden, HealthMad is about health related topics, etc. So in a way, it helps with search engines because each site is very specific. However, you will still have to promote your articles if you want to increase your earnings.

Triond is starting to become a great site to write and make money online. With the new Google Adsense integration, resource box, profile page niche sites and helpful forum Triond is improving. I saw Triond a few months ago but wasn't interested in writing for the site. But now since I have signed up and read through some of the improvements (referral system and especially Google Adsense) I think writers can start making a decent amount of residual income each month. I will keep you updated when I start to really focus on Triond and write a good amount of articles on the site. Hope you enjoyed the post.

Question: What are your thoughts on Triond?

What Is Google Adsense?

Many people have heard of Google adsense but really have no idea what it is. To be honest, I started using Google adsense before I even had an idea of what it's used for. I wanted to write this article so I can understand what Adsense is all about. I feel that if you understand a certain topic better you can utilize it more. Hopefully you will learn something as well.

Adsense was created by Google in 2003. It is a way to get advertisers and website owners to work together. Advertisers want to make money or promote the products they have any way they can. The Internet is the one place in our history that can get in contact with a huge number of people in the shortest amount of time possible. Google realized this and wanted to find a way to help companies advertise themselves (and earn Google a little extra money along the way). Over 1 billion people use the Internet in some way as of September 30, 2009. If companies can get even a fraction of that many people to visit there websites they can earn a great deal of profit.

Advertisers are willing to pay a great amount of money to get there ads on the web. They would go to Google Adsense and sign-up for an account to start advertising there website, product, online store, etc. This is where the website owners come in. Many people on the Internet make websites for fun or for a certain goal; whether it is to get their voice heard, make money or because they were bored at home and had an Internet connection. For example, if a person wanted to make a blog about acting in movies; they would set up a blog and then begin to write about all the aspects of acting in a film. They could write about getting an agent, acting classes, acting courses, acting books, going to auditions, going to New York or Los Angeles, etc. Then they would here about Google Adsense and sign-up. They would then place adsense ads on their blog to start making money with the blog.

The best thing about that is, because that person made a blog about something very specific (or niche) like acting in movies all of the Adsense ads that will show up will be related to acting. So people who already read his blog come visit for a specific reason, acting in movies. They will then see an ad that is about how to act in movies and would click on it. That would earn him money every time someone clicks on an ad on their acting blog.

Once the website owners earn a certain amount of money for clicks they will receive their money at the end of the month. As of now, the minimum payout you can receive from Google Adsense is $100.00. That may seem like a lot but there are a great number of people earning more then that each month. Some successful Adsense publishers make over $10,000 even $30,000 EACH month. It took them a great amount of smart working skills but they did accomplish the task.

Google adsense is a great place for advertisers and publishers. Advertisers have a way to get the products and services out into the Internet and anyone who has a web page can make money online if they are smart. I say you have to be smart because you can work as hard as you want but if you are not doing it right you may get back pennies or nothing.

How to Come up with Article Ideas

There are some days when you wake up and sit at your computer to work online when you can write about 20 different topics. Other days you can not think of a single idea to write about. I am writing this article to help me and anyone else on how to come up with ideas to write about. This article came out of a comment I received on one of my blog posts and because one day I just could not figure out what to write. This should be a learning experience for both you and me. Through brainstorming and browsing articles on the internet I cam up with a good solution:

Write Down Topics You Like:
So the first thing I usually do when I am thinking about writing articles online are subjects I like. This is very easy because if you are human you know that you like certain things more than others. Maybe you like to write about basketball, bugs, computers, popular culture, fashion, or what ever else you LIKE to talk about.

Write Down The Subtopics of These Topics:
Once you have your topics try and think of subtopics that you could write about. This is good because you can increase the amount of articles you write and have a focused article which will rank higher on the search engines. Say you want to write about basketball; you could divide that into topics about how to play good defense, shooting from the three-throw line, dribbling, being a team player, how to practice layups, how to shake a defender...There are so many subtopics you can think about writing for your main ones. It may take a bit more time but you will benefit from doing this.

Write Down Topics You Want to Know About:
Everyone wants to know about something sooner or later. Think about some topics that you want to learn about but never did. You could be killing two birds with one stone with this method. It can be something as easy as 'how to have good table manners' to 'how to mod a computer desktop.' What ever the topic might be, you will have to do some research on it if you want to make your article any good. You don't want to take too much time on researching or you will have no time writing the article. You should spend about 20 to 30 minutes researching a topic and then start writing. As I stated above, you can even write about subtopics of the subjects you have picked.

Use Google Trends:
If you are really running out of ideas you should give Google Trends a try. It is a program on Google that will show you a list of the top most searched topics of the day and any day previous to that day. The search engine topics will fluctuate throughout the entire day and may drop off at any time. That is why it is so unpredictable and some topics may never be high on the search engines the very next day. So in a way, some of your articles may be a one hit wonder which is not ideal if you want to make residual income online.

Question: How do you come up with ideas for your articles?

Focus on One or Several Tasks When Making Money Online?

As I have said, I have been working a lot on editing my articles online. I want to finish editing all of my articles before I continue to write new content. I have been reading a lot about making money online and how important it is to edit them. I feel like I have upgraded since I first starting working on the internet. However, I have been trying to edit all of my articles on every site as well as bookmark articles. I thought that it was a good idea to do for a while. But after a while I realized that I couldn't keep track of what I was doing and what articles a edited or bookmarked. Therefore, I think it may be better to do a lot more work on one site than try to fix all of the sites at the same time. I know there are some people out there who believe in multitasking but I can only do it for so long until my brain shuts down.

So the better thing (for me) to do is focus on one site at a time so I can finish this editing process of my online work. I plan on editing on several sites that I have been using. Here is a list of the sites I will be editing and what I plan to do with them. I'm writing this to give myself a clear game plan and so you can get an idea for editing your articles too. Here it is:

Ehow:
Edit Keywords for search engine optimization
Add 5 articles in the Resource Box to increase Backlinks
Bookmark articles at Xomba and Redgage

Xomba:
Edit Keywords for search engine optimization
Add related articles at the end to increase Backlinks
Add Xomba referral link at the end of each article
Bookmark Xombytes (xomba articles) at Redgage

Bukisa:
Edit Keywords for search engine optimization
Add related articles at the end to increase Backlinks
Add Bukisa referral link at the end of each article
Bookmark articles at Xomba and Redgage

Redgage:
Edit bookmarked content's description section

Monthly Income Report: October 2009

Here is my next post about my earnings that I make online. In these posts I write about what I did in that month, my earnings and what I plan on doing to increase my earnings next month. I know I didn't post my September Income report which was a bad idea on my part. The thing is I haven't been able to do a lot of work online because I've been preoccupied offline. But I'm here and trying to make up for a lost month of none income reporting. I really hope you enjoy this post on my monthly income. It is probably one of my favorite things to post about.

Keep in mind though, I did make about the same amount of income in September that I did in August. So there was no huge increase or decrease in earnings for the month of September. I also didn't really do anything new in terms of tactics to increase my earnings (which is probably why I earned the same amount of income).

October was a fine month for me and I got a good amount of work accomplished. The main thing that I have been doing for this month was more on the editing side. I have been tweaking and fixing all of my articles online rather than posting new ones. I already have a great deal of articles spread throughout the Internet so I was having trouble coming to grips with why my income did not increase. I have over 500 pages of content on the web as of now but did not make a great deal of money. Some writers say you should be making at least a dollar a day on each of your articles. As you will tell by this report I am far from that number. So I began to browse and read through many successful online writer blog's and articles. I just wanted to see what they were doing that I was not really getting. I am still a bit of a noob when it comes to online writing so I am always looking for helpful hints.

There were a few things that I saw and read that I clearly was not doing. I have been bookmarking many of my articles on Xomba and Redgage but that is not the only thing I should be doing. I saw that many writers also post related articles at the bottom of the Ehow articles, post there referral link on Xomba articles, post comments on other Redgage content and a few other things that I was not accomplishing. So I decided to edit all of my existing articles before I continue with new posts. I think I can really boost my earnings by at least $200 every month if I do this correctly. Before I get into that let me show you my income report:

Earnings Report for October:

Ehow: $93.56
Bukisa: $8.16
Adsense (Xomba, Infobarrel, Hubpages): $7.18
Amazon Associates: $0.00
CashCrate: $21.03
TreasureTrooper: $0.00

Total: 129.93 (1.02 increase)

I made about a dollar increase this month from August. I know it is really not a lot of money at all. But it is an on going process that I really have a lot of faith (through hard work) in.

What I Learned In October:

I learned that you have to work smart as well as hard. You can't just post hundreds of articles on a site and expect to rake in the money. Especially if this is your first time on 'the job.' All of the great investors and millionaires (Rockefeller) started from nothing but worked hard to achieve an empire. The thing is I need to work smart now that I have a good amount of articles on the world wide web.

Goals for November:

This month I am going to really continue on editing all of my articles on the internet. I have a lot of things to tweak about them that I am going to outline here. I am going to edit my Ehow, Bukisa and Xomba articles. The main thing I will do is post related content at the end of all of my articles and tweak my keywords. Also, at the end of my Bukisa and Xomba articles I will post my referral link so I can increase my network. I am also going to continue bookmarking all of my articles on Xomba and Redgage. So here it is:

Edit Articles For:
Ehow (Related Content, Keywords)
Xomba (Related Content, Keywords, Referral Link)
Bukisa (Related Content, Keywords, Referral Link)

Bookmark Articles For:
Ehow
Xomba
Bukisa
Hubpages
Infobarrel

I hope you enjoyed my post. I will try to update my blog more often and not have that two month hiatus again. Leave comments about what you think and if I should change any of my tactics.
